Information and Overview

Here at St Anne’s Church of England Academy we want to give our students the best opportunity to reach their potential, both inside and outside of the classroom. Through a wide ranging programme of activities we want to equip all students with the skills, attitudes and understanding needed to enhance their overall success and wellbeing and contribute to society as responsible citizens.

The GILES programme encompasses a variety of ways in which we offer the above opportunities for all of our students. This includes:

Gifted and Talented Pathway

Information, Advice and Guidance for Careers Education

Life Skills and Wellbeing

Extra-Curricular Activities

Student Leadership and the role of Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural
aspects of the curriculum including British values.

Our GILES programme is embedded throughout the whole of each student’s curriculum from Year 7 to 13. All students receive a rich provision of purposely designed classroom and extra-curricular activities to enable them to succeed in his or her future. By success we include academic excellence, physical and emotional wellbeing, interpersonal and work – life skills.

The GILES provision works alongside and as part of our on-going and excellent personalised support provided by our pastoral team to ensure that every young person is prepared for his or her next steps taken in education, the world of work and life in Modern Britain.
