Year 7 Autumn What   do we mean by drugs? Risks associated with drugs.

Science:   Sexual Reproduction in animals: Sexual reproduction, reproductive organs,   being pregnant, gestation and birth, growing up

Anti-bullying   week.

Level 6 -   percentage increases/decreases. (e.g houses increasing in value, cars   decreasing etc.)

Level 7 - ‘best   buys' in terms of which offer is better value for money.

Level 8 -   Differences between compound and simple interest and also finding the   original after a percentage change.

L3-5 - how to use   a calculator effectively, this includes change, and calculations with money,   finding the total cost etc.

NB: This is not   usually by year group but by level.

 

Taught   through practical PE- Benefits of exercise, effects of exercise on the body,   components of fitness, muscles & bones.

Personal   identity and healthy lifestyles.

Spring   Why   do we have to learn about SRE? Healthy relationships, contraception, STI’s,   Respect, Difference (sexuality).    

Road   Safety. – Staying safe.

Summer    

How   do I plan for my financial future? Where money comes from, budgeting.

How   enterprising am I?

Barclays   life skills session.

How   do I make positive choices about living a healthy lifestyle? Healthy eating,   physical activity.

Year 10 Autumn Core   Science: Effect of drugs, damage caused by smoking, effects of alcohol.

Additional   Science: Biology 2 (Can be taught at any point in the year or in year 11):   Circulatory system, digestive system, blood, heart, aerobic/anaerobic   respiration

Spring RE (AQA   specification) Drug Abuse.

Spring   How   does SRE help keep me safe? – Positive relationships, reducing risks,   responsible choices, contraception, financial implications of pregnancy.      
Summer How   does drug education help to keep me safe? Drugs, setting, effects, risks,   help, knowledge.       How   do I make positive choices about a healthy lifestyle? Healthy eating,   exercise, mental health.
