Our aim for all our students at St Anne’s Academy is to promote excellent standards of language and literacy by enabling students to develop high standards of written and spoken communication. A love of reading for pleasure as well as to enhance learning opportunities is at the heart of our ethos. The English Curriculum is designed with our students in mind and the English Department aims to ensure that all pupils:
Key Stage 4
In Y11 students study the 0522 IGCSE English Language specification, there is a coursework element to this and students will perfect this throughout the course of study.
Y11 students also study the KETO Edexcel IGCSE English Literature specification and will study: Of Mice and Men, An Inspector Calls, A View From The Bridge, Poetry, To Kill A Mockingbird.
In Y10 students start the new linear format from September 2015. Students will study Edexcel English Language and Literature. The KS3 curriculum has been designed with the KS4 requirement in mind.
