St Anne’s in the Community

St Anne’s Academy fosters close links with the local community and continually explores new ways to develop and strengthen positive relationships with key stakeholders including students, their families and local community groups.  The Academy also holds regular fund-raising events to support local and national charities with ideas and requests often coming from our own students.

Here are some examples of Academy Community events during the Autumn Term 2018:

  • ‘Everyone’s Welcome’ Parent Coffee Mornings held every Thursday
  • Weekly Pensioner Luncheon Clubs for members of Demesne Community Centre
  • Donation of foodstuffs by students and staff to Middleton Foodbank during Harvest
  • £300 raised by students and staff for Macmillan Cancer Support at the annual Macmillan Cake and Coffee Morning
  • Firework Celebration event – a reward for the families of students with excellent attendance, punctuality and behaviour, hot dogs and toffee apples included!  Members of Demesne Community Centre are also invited to this event
  • Remembrance Service with invited guests from The Queen Elizabeth Foundation
  • Christmas Fair, open to the whole community with many attractions including students’ homemade cakes, arts and crafts, Christmas cards and decorations made by the Thursday Morning Parent Group and Christmas gift stalls open to local traders
  • Christmas Meal for elderly members of Demesne Community Centre
  • Christmas Meal for the Homeless organised by the Sixth Form
